Welcome back to the wrap skirt!  This super-flattering trend is making a name again this year, and in a much more sophisticated and edgy way.  I had a closet full of wrap skirts in the 90s that were proper and preppy.  Today’s skirt has an edge, with an asymmetrical hemline and lots of shorter options that work well from office to office party.  What a perfect way to wear your winter white!

In case you haven’t noticed, ruffles are EVERYWHERE this season!  From soft off-the-shoulder blouses to tiered skirts, it’s a fun and flirty look for summer.  It’s easy though to don ruffles and look like you might as well be ready for your 2nd grade school photo.  So take a look at some great ways to pull off ruffles while looking sharp and sassy!

Blogger Rachel Vogt totally rocks this ruffled blouse by pairing it with a menswear stripe pant and classic leather bag.  The red is such a strong color, making this a great choice.

Want It Wednesday – Flirty Skirts

Spring is the perfect time of year for skirts!  I think it’s because I’ve felt bundled up all winter, and now I’m ready to shed all those layers.

I’ve been eyeing this chiffon skirt from Ann Taylor ever since it started getting warmer outside.  It has the effect of pleating but in a really flirty way and would look great paired with a soft black blouse and strappy heels.  Oh, and it’s an additional 40% off now, so it’s a must have!

This M Missoni skirt from Piperlime has a great graphic print with subtle hints of pink that I love.  This is such a great staple piece – I can see wearing it through just about any season by changing the accessories and shoes.  So while it’s definitely an investment piece, it’s worth it.
