New York Fashion Week wrapped last week with the world’s leading designers sharing their Fall 2016 collections. Actually, it was one of the largest fashion weeks ever with over 200 shows all over the city. From the street styles to the runway, there’s a non-stop air of excitement and anticipation throughout the week.
One trend we saw across a number of shows was the expansive use of metallic, and not just for couture or evening wear. Ralph Lauren (above) showed fabrics of almost liquid gold paired with luxe wools, suede and fur. Kendall Jenner (below) walked the Michael Kors runway in a silver metallic brocade dress held together with metal grommets.
And the metallic was not just for clothing — metallic shoes were prominently featured in the Coach 1941 show. The day shoe below is to-die for and would look great with both skirts and pants.
