I finally took the time to stop by the “Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015” exhibit at NorthPark Center in Dallas. If you live in or plan to be in the area between now and January 3, you should make the time to see this. Named one of the 7 retail wonders of the modern world, NorthPark is a high-fashion mecca of luxury and excess, including the largest Neiman Marcus store in the franchise and modern art and sculptures on display throughout the center.
The exhibit features 29 looks spanning the last 50 years of fashion, including amazing couture dresses from designers like Nina Ricci, Dior, and Todd Oldham. With the exception of the Andy Warhol dress – which leans more heavily to art as fashion as opposed to wearable fashion – all of these looks are very on point and could just as likely be found on the racks at Neiman Marcus. Which just goes to show how timeless fashion is.
