OK, I’m finally giving in and ready to rock the distressed jeans look.  I’ve resisted this for a couple of seasons, 1. because I thought it was a bit trendy, and 2. because I wasn’t sure I could pull the look off without looking juvenile.  But after seeing how great this look is when done right, it’s time.

Amal Clooney gets it right by pairing her distressed jeans with a polished jacket and amazing shoes!  By keeping her accessories simple and chic and the jeans on the fitted side, the look works from every angle.  Similar to mixing luxury brands with big box basics, mix your casual ripped and distressed jeans with more sophisticated pieces for a very chic look.

Resist the temptation to overdo this trend, or you’ll just look comical.  If you’re showing more skin than jean, it’s just tacky.  And if your jeans really are literally hanging by a thread, it’s probably time to donate them.
