Viktor & Rolf – Paris Fashion Week

Avant garde fashion is meant to be an exaggeration of the form, an over-expression of the design — something revolutionary and unusual.  It’s not meant to be worn, and you won’t find these designs hanging on the rack at Neiman Marcus.  What you will find is an interpretation of that look that translates into ready-to-wear.

That said, some of the designs coming out of Paris Fashion Week are beyond avant garde.  The “art print” from Viktor & Rolf is just that.  A framed work of art that converges into the dress.  While the dress is more an expression of the designer, the print itself is stunning.  It will be exciting to see what ready-to-wear looks come from this.
