There’s something so all-American about gingham.  It’s crisp and fresh and it’s the “it” fabric for Spring.  And make no mistake, gingham has come a long way from Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and summer picnic tablecloths.  It’s sophisticated and chic and major designers like Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta featured the fabric in their Spring shows.

While we’ve also seen a lot of plaid fabrics over the past few seasons, what makes gingham unique is its symmetry and use of a single color combined with white.  It’s typically a cotton woven, although you’ll find gingham patterns in other fabrics, from silks to taffeta to linen.

However you choose to wear it, you’re sure to look on-trend and ready for Spring!
