New Year’s style resolution #3 – embrace color!
I love wearing black – OMG how much do I love black?! That and graphite grey, which is basically “light” black. It’s easy, sophisticated, slimming (right?!), and beyond versatile. But as simple as it is to have a variety of black options in your closet, wearing color brings out a brightness in your complexion and adds personality.
The good news is, you don’t have to go out and buy a new wardrobe to add color. Think accessories and mixing/matching items you already own:
1. Add a scarf. This is probably the simplest way to add color and completely on trend. This scarf I found on Etsy is perfect for now and will transition into Spring with ease.
2. Wear your color on the bottom. If you’re not comfortable with a lot of color around your face, add color with a skirt like this one from Milly.
3. Pick a solid color, not a print. I find that so many people are afraid of prints and they translate that into a fear of color. Pick a color that looks good on you and wear it as a solid. As Coco Chanel once said, “The best color in the world is the one that looks good on you.”
