Despite my love of haute couture and luxury goods, I rarely (very rarely) pay retail and tend to look at my purchases as investments. Yes, I have Manolo’s and Louboutin’s in my closet, but I bought them on sale and have owned them for years.
That said, there are certain items that just don’t go on sale. So if you want that Chanel handbag, you won’t find a 50% off tag on it. I recently sold my home and have made it through a very tough year at work, so I’m wanting a big ticket item to signify the changes in my life.
I’ve narrowed down my luxury splurge to the Louis Vuitton Neverfull, a Tag Heuer watch, or a classic Chanel bag. It probably won’t be the Chanel bag only because it doesn’t seem as practical as the others.
