Celebrating the Pumpkin

Happy Halloween, everyone!  While I’m not known for dressing in costume, I absolutely LOVE handing out candy to all the cute neighborhood children.  You know they each spent weeks deciding on the perfect costume, and now’s their chance to show it off.

For me, I’m celebrating Halloween with one of my favorite colors, pumpkin orange.  Orange can be a hard color to pull off — it’s the only color on the color wheel that’s a true “warm”, combining red and yellow.  So if it’s not the best color for you, use it as an accent or accessory.

Pumpkin Coat

I love this street style look that pairs the orange jacket with the cobalt pants.  If orange is not the best color for you, this is a great way to enjoy the color, but then take it off when you get to work or wherever you’re going.

Pumpkin Scarf

I want to just curl up in this chunky pumpkin colored infinity scarf!  It seems like this would be fairly simple to knit myself, so I’m pretty inspired to try.

Pumpkin Sweater

Again, pairing orange with blue really makes the look.  And this photo shows that you can wear white shoes after Labor Day — the covered toe and strong heel make it work.  Photo credit:  Adam Katz Sinding
